Manual reflexotherapy

Vacuum reflexotherapy — is a common method of manual reflexotherapy, the therapeutic effect of which is carried out using a vacuum device or special vacuum cups.

Types of manual reflexotherapy:

  • Manual massage of reflexogenic zones (hand massage);
  • Manual acupressure (pressing massage of acupuncture points (APs);
  • Vacuum massage of reflexogenic zones (cupping massage);
  • Manual vacuum reflexotherapy (vacuum therapy, vacuum cups);
  • Manual magnetic vacuum reflexotherapy (Hachi cups).

How vacuum reflexotherapy works:

  • Special vacuum cups with or without magnetic cones will be applied to the skin in the area of the patient's problem zone. The problem zone depends on the type and level of the lesion;
  • Under these cups, negative pressure is created using a pump;
  • The effect of hyperemia occurs — a local increase in blood supply.

The therapeutic effect of vacuum reflexotherapy is a local increase in metabolism:

  • Stimulation of tissue and cell saturation with oxygen and nutrients;
  • Improvement of venous outflow;
  • Muscle relaxation.

Indications for manual reflexotherapy and vacuum therapy:

  • Pain syndromes in the back area;

  • Manifestations of local venous and lymphatic insufficiency (post-traumatic edema);
  • Neuritis of peripheral nerves, radiculopathies;

  • Muscle tension after exertion or exhausting workouts (post-exertion pain syndrome).

Contraindications to manual reflexotherapy and vacuum therapy:

  • Local injuries, pustular eruptions on the skin;
  • Acute inflammatory diseases;
  • Elevated body temperature;
  • History of oncological diseases;
  • Arterial hypertension;
  • Blood clotting disorders and taking anticoagulants;
  • Phlebitis or deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins.

Relative contraindications: menstruation and pregnancy (do not apply cups or perform vacuum massage on the lower abdomen and pelvic area).
