Polyneyropathy treatment by reflexotherapy methods

Polyneuropathy (PNP) — is a disease of the peripheral nerves with damage to the axon and myelin sheath, accompanied by sensory and vegetative disorders and leading to impaired walking. PNP can be sensory (when sensory disorders predominate), motor (when motor disorders predominate), and mixed.

Causes of polyneuropathy (PNP) are diverse:

  • Diabetic PNP against the background of type II diabetes mellitus;
  • Atherosclerotic PNP;
  • PNP in gout, uremic PNP;
  • PNP in Lyme borreliosis;
  • PNP in botulism and diphtheria;
  • Autoimmune PNP and PNP in vasculitis;
  • PNP in thyroid diseases;
  • Toxic PNP (toluene, spray paints for cars…);
  • Paraneoplastic PNP and against the background of CMT (chemotherapy) in oncological diseases.

Symptoms of polyneuropathy (PNP):

  • Neuropathic pain in the hands and feet with gradual spread, burning sensation;
  • Sensory disorders (paresthesias, dysesthesias) — a feeling of "crawling insects";
  • Vegetative disorders — increased cold sensitivity (chilliness) of the hands and feet;
  • Paresis (muscle weakness) — stumbling, reduction of walking distance;
  • Motor disorders — falls and (or) lameness when walking;
  • Coordination disorders — unsteadiness when standing and walking;
  • Trophic disorders: dry skin, brittle nails, cracks, hair loss in the area of affected nerves.

For patients, timely access to a neurologist, a comprehensive examination, complex treatment, and adherence to the doctor's recommendations are crucial.

Methods of PNP treatment at «Medpraktika Zdorovya»

  • Reflexotherapy

Acupuncture, auriculotherapy, pharmacopuncture. The neurologist and reflexotherapist creates an acupuncture prescription individually for each patient. The combination of corporal acupuncture points (APs), auricle points, and points for pharmacopuncture has a therapeutic effect due to the following results: regulation of metabolism, improvement of tissue respiration, and a vasodilating effect.

  • Manual reflexotherapy

- Manual massage of reflexogenic zones (hand massage);

- Manual acupressure (massage of acupuncture points (APs) of the feet).

Acupuncture and reflexotherapy have proven efficiency in improving the condition of patients with diabetic and dyshormonal PNP.

  • Physiotherapy

High-intensity laser therapy and BTL Magnetotherapy improve metabolic processes and tissue respiration in the affected nerve fibers, which helps to improve their conduction capacity.

BTL Electrotherapy, Stimulation, and BTL Aquaphoresis improve the contractility of muscle fibers, restoring motor activity, reducing sensory disorders and neuropathic pain.

The complex therapeutic program at «Medpraktika Zdorovya» not only eliminates the symptoms of the disease, but also allows stopping the progression of polyneuropathy and preserving the function of walking!
